About Us
Servus Travel comes from the Latin word servus, meaning “at your service” — and it’s also a word close to our hearts from when we met in Vienna, Austria. Coming from a multicultural background and having lived in different parts of the world, we know how exciting (and sometimes confusing) international travel can be. We created Servus to help travelers avoid the little mistakes we once made and feel confident, welcomed, and truly at home in Kansas City.
Meet Miriam
I grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, near the Dutch border — a region that feels open and connected to the rest of Europe. Later, I studied Arabic in Vienna and Paris, and living in Vienna especially felt like being in a true melting pot of cultures. That experience deepened my love for languages and my curiosity about how people experience the world differently.
After marrying Kenny in 2021, I moved to the United States and experienced firsthand how real culture shock can be. The small things — healthcare, distances, tipping, transportation — can feel overwhelming at first. Since then, I’ve loved helping friends and family navigate Kansas City, making things feel simple, comfortable, and easy from the start.
Meet Kenny
I grew up between Ecuadorian and American cultures, so living between two worlds has always been part of who I am. I’ve always loved the little differences — the food, the traditions, the way people gather — and how those small details make each place unique.
During university I lived in Argentina, and after college I spent time in Austria. From afternoon mate to coffee and Sachertorte, I fell in love with how culture shows up in everyday life.
I genuinely get excited about exploring cities — Google Maps is probably my most-used app. I love discovering neighborhoods, great food spots, parks, and hidden gems. And that’s exactly what I want for you — to experience Kansas City not just as a visitor, but in a way that feels local, authentic, and unforgettable.
